Hi All,

While setting up Slony-I with PostgreSQL, I was asked to look into the
possibility of implementing it with PgPool. The purpose of implementing
Pgpool is so that there will be minimum downtime and no change to
application setting.

Currently I have PostgreSQL v 8.1.17-0etch1 and Slony-I v1.2.16 build
from source on Debian Etch.

I did a check on pgpool and found there are 2 version:

1. pgpool v3.1.1-1

2. pgpool2 v1.3-2~bpo40+1

Which version of Pgpool should I install with my server setup? Can any
point me to a installation guide for pgpool? What are the things I have
to take note of if using it with Slony-I?

Regards,

Lawrence Giam
