When you say "remove the schemas by hand", do you mean psql, or slonik
commands?

Ultimately (guided by stevenSn on #slony on irc.freenode.net), i used
slonik commands to drop the nodes that weren't replicating properly, and
then repeated the store node commands for those nodes.

Then i was able to store node, and things got synced up properly.

Unfortunately, i don't know for certain how i got into that nasty state.
 It may have been by trying to drop a node while it was attempting to
sync or something.  But i'm not sure :/

If i figure out more, i'll report back here.
