That is correct. 1.2 should work on 9.0 It should compile against 9.1 but you will encounter issues due to locking or deadlocks. It MIGHT work well enough for you to get your data off. I don't think 1.2 compiles against 9.2 Slony 2.1.x should work with Postgresql 8.4 and 9.2, I would recommend upgrading slony first.
