I recently patched 2.1 (and 2.2) to expressly recognize Postgres 9.2, which ought to provide an immediate resolution to the issue you're seeing.
Presumably we should tag a 2.1.3, I don't think anything stands against that, and that would draw in a few interesting fixes. There is still an issue in master relating to the handling of data type namespaces that I'd think blocks releasing 2.2, just yet, but I hope Jan has things under control to get a patch released soon.
