Free market is rather easy to understand. It is nothing
so philosophical. In real life, I like to be direct to
the point, numbers, customers' feedback, actual numerical
statistics. And this is what I am discussing with you. If
you want to talk about meaning of life, socialism, democracy,
religions, that is, philosophical stuff, you can set a time
with me during the weekends, because I do not talk about
philosophical stuff during weekdays.
Free market improves the quality of life by virtue that it
does not prevent a better competitor from providing a better
service. Non free market prevents entry to market by taxes,
legal barring of entry (like the restriction of the full banking
licenses of foriegn banks). We must not pretend that imposing
of a free market is not important. One only need to look at
history to confirm his own suspicions, During Japanese
Sengoku Jidai (Warring States Era), Nobunaga's state of Owari
flourishes by pure virtue that it posed no restrictions to
traders while others imposed taxes on traders, Nobunaga later
conquered half of Japan. His conquest ended short with the
betrayal of his subordinate, but Toyotomi Hideyoshi (his
successor) completed the conquest of Japan (precussor of
Tokugawa Shogunate).

Yes, we do appreciate that. But consider this,
1) Both wiredrepublic and myself are doing completely
the same job. What is the point of duplicating the job?
2) I cannot provide a link to your site, because your
site is not on our server, and it does not present an
uniform image.
3) We had invited him to join SLP to take over the news
site before. I think he has some misgivings though, he
may think that it is imposing on me as I am handling the
same job. There is no conflict of interest, if he wants
to take over and I think he can do a better job, he shall
take over. I shall move over and create a slashdot like
community.
4) My concern is that the general public gets to read
quality news report. The general public gets it better
from wiredrepublic that it gets from me. Free market
dictates that I shall be deselected and he be selected.
Now, what is _your_ concern? If your concern is for local
Linux community then you will agree that Beh should move
over and take over me, it provides a more uniformed picture
at the same time too.

Sorry, I do not understand this. Until now, you have been
the one taking the offensive stance, I have been calm and
I have explained to you my economical motivations.
The portal benefits by virtue that it has linux.mdk.org
to host redhat mirror and carries the domain name of
ftp.linux.com.sg, your mirror benefits by virtue that
you have the Singapore Linux Portal to redirect traffic
to your site. We now see a trading of specializations,
there is no economical reasons to take it personal with
you.
I only care about results, being personal renders no
results, and getting personal is purely uneconomical.
So logically and economically, I have no reasons to be
personal.
Period.
