Hi both,
So I'm one of the Windoze users who is interested to port over
to Linux as a newbie using Caldera OL 2.3. So now here is my problem...I
installed this version of Caldera & the whole installation is exceptionally
breezeeeee. The problem here is when the system starts to load kernel,
mounting file system etc. followed by appearance of the X-server window for
users to login.
Before I could type anything on the passwd field, the field
would fills itself with letters 'o'& 'k' bla bla bla.
e.g. ooooooookkkkkkooooooo....This will continue until I shut down the
system completely. Initially anyone would thought that it's a keyboard
problem, but this trend continues even when I pulled out the Compaq PS/2
keyboard. With this problem, I can't probably key in my root passwd to
login.
Anyone out there with any ideas/suggestions on how to overcome
this problem, else I'll try to install my
RedHat 5.2 on this Compaq system. 1 thing that I found out that the
hardware support for this release is not too comprehensive compared with
other Linux OS. Well, last but not least, any comments thrown out to the
floor is greatly appreciated. thank you.
btw, I'm using a Compaq DeskPro system & I'll try to select different
keyboard layout, that is, microsoft natural, 101-PC & 104-PC(all US-English)
Rgks,
Irwin
