Hi there I know that linux can see thru a bios so I am after a 10gb hard disk for my current laptop which only has a 2gb hard disk (toshiba's advertised max size is around 4gb - it also autodetected a 3gb with win98 on it and it booted ok) I presume I put a 10gb disk in there dos will only see what the max is for the laptop 4gb and the rest will be inaccessable from dos but the linux kernel sould be able to use the whole disk - any other advice on lilo etc.... would be welcome (the toshiba's bios has no setting for hard disk type I presume it autodetects them as the 3gb one worked first go) The other question is that anybody had any experiences with mobile data specifically cdma - I have a phone capable of it and the details about a pcmcia card are at the url below http://www.qualcomm.com/cdma/data/onthego/specs.html (of course go and look at the price!) I can not get comfirmation out of qualacomm that this pcmcia card is a real modem! (ie plug and play com port and you use that comport as if there is a normal modem there with AT commands) There is a INF file for download and a quick glance of it makes me think it's a real modem so it's in the downloads section. I have searched everywhere for information about it and linux and there is zip out there! (of course if you know somebody with this card I would just like to try it - but it seems unlikely!)
