Hello,
I am new to Linux and am having trouble configuring my screen
properly. I have loaded Red Hat 6.0 on to my Toshiba laptop, model
320CDT. My documentation describes the screen and chip as
super VGA, chipset Chips & Technology 65555, 2048n KB of
memory, RAMDAC generic 8-bit pseudo-color DAC with 6-bit wide
lookup tables or in 6-bit mode. It is also described as compatible
with a Hitachi 9300K G2.2.
I know that this is capable of 800 by 600 resolution, because I can
get that in Windows, but in Red Hat installation, or when I run
Xconfigurator, using the SVGA setting, it will accept only 640 x 480
resolution.
Any assistance or suggestions (preferably in words of no more
than 2 syllables - I'm new to this) would be greatly appreciated.
Allen
