I had to comment out slocate on my Alpha running RH6.0 as once it
started it 'never stopped' and chewed up most of the cpu. Everything
ground to a halt. It was listed in the startup scripts somewhere. grep
the /etc/init.d scripts. It will be there.
Interesting that others are having probs with it. (naturally my locate
database is now out of date).
Surely it should not take 33%.
