Hi all. As you may be aware SLUG will be having a stand at the forthcoming Linux Open Source Conference and Expo at Darling Harbour March 2000 (see http://www.linuxexpo.com.au/ for more information). SLUG is looking for volunteers to "man the stand" over the four day event. As SLUG wouldn't be alone - there are a lot of Linux centric vendors, demos and displays - our efforts will not be as exhausting as in '99. It is envisaged that we will have a small stand selling the benefits of Open Source, SLUG membership and the overall Linux community. A machine demoing - "unusual" software like video editing and security is probably what we will show as a "crowd puller". If you have an interest in actively assisting at the show, are a financial SLUG member and would like to "donate" at least for a couple of hours, could you drop me a email so that I can get a SLUG schedule going. General knowledge of Linux and SLUG are all that is required. In your email please give me your preferred date and times - early bird get the worm per say.
