Yes, download an ISO image instead of the tree. Then you won't have
problems with filenames and permissions. Or download to a Linux machine
and use mkisofs to generate an ISO image then transfer to Windoze to
burn. But be careful about the permissions of executables, many ftp
clients don't preserve them; mirror.pl is one that does.
