I notice that you have THREE single quotes after the "for" suggesting
that the interpreter has found an unmatched single quote. Open the file
in an editor which has syntax highlighting such as vim, gvim or emacs.
If its a bash or perl script the editor will detect the #!/bn/sh or
#!/bin/perl or whatever at the start and load the appropriate syntax
file. Then you will see that unmatched ' in red or something.
