A good read.
One thing I noted wrt aliasing is:
"As Linux 2.2 became completely compatible with the specification [IPv4],
the use of "colon mode" for aliasing was deprecated. This functionality
was completely removed in Linux 2.4 and may require some advanced users or
distributions to partially rewrite scripts."
What is the format to be for aliasing. ie., what does eth0:0 eth0:1 etc.
