Check /etc/ppp/pap-secrets.
It should look something like this
===cut===
# Secrets for authentication using PAP
# client server secret IP addresses
user1 host1 password1 *
user2 host2 password2 *
===cut===
The * on the end is the important bit - lets the remote end use any IP
address assigned - important when dialing ISP's which use dynamic IP based
on which port of the terminal server you connect to.
Of course, replace "user1" with your username, "host1" with the hostname
specified in your dialup script and "password1" with your password.
