That's just because the SBLive drivers weren't available at the time os 
the RH6.1 distro.  You've probably already worked this out, but the SBLive 
is now partially supported (eg pcm works fine, hardware midi isn't quite 
there but will be shortly).  You can grab sblive OSS drivers from 
http://opensource.creative.com/ or ALSA drivers from 
http://www.alsa-project.org/ .
