Afternoon,

Just a quick question, I want to know the best method to backup say 2 key linux
servers I have running. These both machines run Debian 2.1, and are connected
to the same physical lan.

One machine has a SCSI tape unit (being DDS2 I think), and I am wondering how
someone would recommend doing the backup of both machines onto this one tape
unit. I currently use dump grep it out to a bzip2 compression, and then dump
the file to the filesystem, as I am yet to get the tape all configured and
going. But before I do I want some ideas.

Mainly curious about how the other machine without the tape unit, would backup
up to the device on the other machine. Would this be shared out via NFS?

Anyone feel free to comment, even if you think you might not know much, I am
happy to listen to any body who has ideas.

Thanks
Michael
