This is more of a mailing list brainstorm question than anything else. I am looking to impliment (for fun and educational purposes, not for some crazy enterprise solution) some type of distributed computer setup. Using a floppy disk version of linux such as mklinux we hope to stick a disk into a computer boot it and use the computer to process what we want. We can get the machines going, yet we are looking for ideas on getting the distributed bit happening. Stuff like seti@home downloads the data to your computer but in the tradition of server farms we are looking for a server to send small bits of data out and get them back so that its like one huge SMP. This project is hours old and we have the machines booting, the machines picking up ethernet cards etc etc.. but we need ideas for the distributed bit. If anyone has heard of any similar projects or has any ideas drop me a line. Thank you for your thoughts and comments.
