It makes much more sense for pe ople to write to hardware manufacturers
directly asking for Linux support. Petitions online mean absolutely
nothing to manufacturers. And if they do comply as by a petition and get
no extra business out of it, they will only be wary about supporting Linux
in the future.
Writing directly to hardware manufacturers of YOUR hardware is the way to
go. Get your friends to do it too if you wish. And keep your messages
calm and polite.
As for pages which have "enter your e-mail address here to let your
friends no about bla bla".. With the exception of this page (perhaps),
most of these get submitted to spam bots. Please be very very very
careful about where you submit e-mail addresses.
