I took it a bit to be "who will be calling the shots in the future?"
Yep, the code is there/here and I/you have it and "we" can always
continue developing Linux into the future no matter what happens.
2c - the "internet way" of doing business is still evolving, but for
business it still has to make a profit and return earns to
shareholders and only a very few companies are doing that.
It was the storekeepers selling supplies that made profits from the
gold rushes, very few gold diggers made money. A lesson from history
that very few people seem to have learnt. Linux(=GOLD!) fever?
So when the current crop of Linux gods being signed up by the Linux
names, have a wife, kids and mortgage and a choice between toeing the
company line and unemployment, which code will they follow?.
But then I'm just supporting my arguments for LUG to hold Fests
(install, config, apps/prog) to maximise the number of new Linux
demi/semi/hemi gods {:-).
