I bet you are running RH 6.0. I had the the same problem (I think) Somebody
gave me the following commands.

echo 0 >/proc/sys/net/ipv4/tcp_timestamps
echo 0 >/proc/sys/net/ipv4/tcp_sack
echo 0 >/proc/sys/net/ipv4/tcp_window_scaling

I put them into a script at startup and guess what Ozemail works fine for
mail as well as web pages. Don't ask me why. I just know it does.

Let me know, if this helped for you

Regards
Bernhard

Subject: [SLUG] Got Ozemail problems?

I figured this might be worth a mention.

I managed to track down and work around a problem with ozemail. If
anyone finds that they sometimes have connections freeze or time out,
especially with larger files, let me know.

Mick.
