Correct. 4 + 3.
Web master doesn't have to be a committee member, but then again,
why not?
The most important attributes for being on the committee, I believe,
are commonsense and availability. Technical knowledge is not as important.
Availability is as much email availability.
It would be nice to have people who are keen to put lots of work in,
however the most important role for the committee is to make decisions.
Where to spend money, what direction to take? We have a lot of
important trade offs in front of us.
Here are some benefits you might think of:
- helping others
- a powerful message on your resume when you go for a Linux job
- develop dealing with people skills
In addition, Grahame and I have chucked around the initial eSLUG
float, in which each paid up member gets 1000 shares and each
committee member gets 10,000. Ha ha only serious^H^H^H^H^H^H joking.
One other point, we should get proxy forms on our web site that
you can print out, get signed and bring / have brought to the meeting
for voting.
