Several options:
1. dvips resume.dvi -o resume.ps
This gives a PostScript file. I find that the appearance of ps is
better than pdf for unknown reasons. You can supply them with the URL of
where to download Ghostview for Windows. Most IT places should be able
to read ps.
2. ps2pdf resume.ps resume.pdf
This converts it to pdf
3. pdflatex resume.tex
Converts straight to pdf
Interestingly I have found that for small documents the ps files from
dvips (text) are smaller than the pdf files (binary) from pdflatex.
3. latex2rtf
Converts LaTeX directly to RTF.
And as an aside I think that it is unreasonable for companies to insist
on Word format for outside persons. I may be OK when a company has a
company policy to use Word internally totally unacceptable to require
resume submitters to use Word. I would politely inform them of that.
