I have used a program called Ted, which outputs rtf files. Somewhat similar in power to write, perhaps a little more powerful. Has some rough edges, but if all you want to do is belt out a nice looking page or two, works OK. If longer, I concur with Mike Lake. Get the content right first, then worry about markup.
