i'm having confusions about which ftp daemon i'm running. a 'locate ftp | less' revealed that there were wu-ftpd files on my system. when i 'man ftpd', the "ftp stream tcp nowait root /usr/sbin/tcpd in.ftpd -l -a -d -t 60 -T 60" in inetd.conf doesn't seem to work according to my "-t" & "-T" appendages when i'm logging in via ncftp or 'ftp' and let activity idle. the "loginfails 5" set up in /etc/ftpaccess doesn't reflect what's happening with login retries in ncftp & ftp either. as far as i can guess, i'm still using the default ftp daemon when i installed redhat 5.1 18 months ago.
