Hi all :)
I now have a dial-up connection and BigPond Direct Permanent connection
running off the same box.
I use the BigPond Direct Permanent for hosting.
I use the dial-up connection for masquerading internet access to other
computers on the network (will soon be replaced by Optus@Home).
Now, I have a problem :)
Bob requests a website which goes to the IP of my BPD connection. Apache
gets the request and says "Ahh, now what do I do with Bob's IP.." and
looks at the routing table and sends the outbound traffic out via my
dial-up connection :)
Now, although this makes things rather cheap for me, how do I work a way
around it :)
Traffic to the webserver should travel back the same way it can come in,
and short of setting up a completely different machine to host the web
server on, I cannot think of a solution at the moment.
Although I think this is a lovely way to abuse Optus@Home's no servers
policy :)
