I am having problems with a Compaq Presario which has RH 6.1 workstation
installed.
There is no way that I can find the /dev/lp* devices.
lsmod shows lp, parport and parport_probe to be loaded and the lpd daemon
is running. I do notice that the /var/log/messages has the following
lines logged during the boot:
modprobe: can't locate module parport_lowlevel
I guess this might be my problem, but as this is a bog standard install I
am surprised that there is a problem. I cannot find an module that might
resemble this name.
Can anyone enlighten me, or am I going to have to reconfigure/recompile
the kernel and the modules?
