I'm using X-win with my network and it works fine.
Go to /etc/X11/xdm/Xaccess and make sure you have
* # Any host can connect
OR
192.168.1. # Subnet hosts can connect (I'm not sure the
syntax if you have to put 192.168.1. or 192.168.1.0 etc..etc..)
* CHOOSER BROADCAST #any indirect host can get a chooser
I use the broascast as rexec recquires screwing around with inetd.conf and
putting DISPLAY enviroment options into the command line argument.. I hate
that...
Do you have xdm running?
If you do then only allow your IP subnet to connect like I have to eliminate
anybody else connecting to you server..

A mandrake box here just required enabling rexec in inetd.conf, but the
Redhat boxes fail with... Too many retransmissions....
Any ideas?
