A friend of mine has a disk which had some problems. He rand scandisk over
it to see if would fix the problem but it didn't (suprise). All the data has
now been renamed fil00000.chk, fil00001.chk, etc. 

As it turns out, this HDD has his entire thesis on it and the last 5 years
of uni. Backups don't exist.

Can anyone recommend a data-recovery surgeon? I have heard of a place in
North Sydney called Dr Disk.

Anyone had any experience here at all?
