HI
I hav just upgraded a red hat 6.1 box to 6.2 causing the trial version
of oss to fail.
I have tried reinstalling OSS to no avail and decided to try ALSA
instead.
ALSA comes in three parts (driver, libs and utils) and compiles quite
cleanly on my machine the problem occurs when I try to run modprobe to
start the snd and and-card-cs4236 modules.
It fails with the message that these modules were compiled for a 2.2.14
kernal and I am running a 2.2.14-5 kernel. It seems as though the RH6.2
install gives you the 2.2.14-5 kernel but installs the source
(/usr/src/linux) for 2.2.14.
I have looked all over for a 2.2.14-5 kernal source package or tarball
but I can't find one. Does anyone know where I can get the Source for
this kernel or should I just compile a kernel from the source I have and
use that?
OR am I off the track completely.
Cheers
James Dean
