I quess this question should best be directed to Tridge, but I will ask it here anyway, just in case Tridge is listening. I would like to know if rsync can sync partitions which do not contain Linux-known file systems, specifically Pick D3 file systems. Is it possible to just sync the partition as in /dev/sda* rather than the file system, or parts thereof. The reason is that I have a Linux box that runs Pick D3 as the database and I would like to run a cron based sync of the Pick partitions to another Linux box for a belt and braces security in addition to the normal tape backup.
