Ipchains + Linux is inherently no different to Cisco ACL's or firewall-1
rulesets..
The benefits of a commercial firewall are predominantly things like
managaeability, extras like VPN's and miscellaneous user-level stuff.. and
the fact that a lot of companies sleep together and make auth hooks for
each other's products etc...
And don't forget the pretty gui...
(mind you, I'm talking about packet filter type firewalls as opposed to
app layer ones like Raptor etc...)
