under those stats, anyone who starts a thread gets a bonus, and people
who give short replies get penalised
(unless you change your quoting prefix ;)
i'd rather see some thread-related stats:
who posted messages on a new subject, but didn't have any replies
(spammers or announcers)
who posted messages that started threads (askers)
who posted messages that ended threads (answerers)
how many people directly replied to a post (easy question, or
controversial post)
and how many lines contained the words "sed", "awk", "perl", "sh" ;)
whether more or less of such lines is better, is left as an exercise
for the reader.
