After the onslaught of replies for your previous email....
  ....all I can add is that....

Welcome to the fold. You will find Linux(Unix) a very enjoyable experience
and it in turn will teach you lots of stuff on how an modern OS is put
together and run. You will be constantly learning and that is not a bad
thing.

After 13 years I am still learning new stuff about Unix.... I used to be one
of those who used to do "configure; make" etc... and now I just do "rpm -ihv
" as I could not be bothered. Sometimes it is more enjoyable seeing the end
result and working with it, rather than the ride...
