[SLUG] Weird Error

I have a collegue running RH6.2. When he runs up X (Gnome) and only when he
runs X he gets

VFS: Disk change detected on device ide1(22,64)

repeated over and over again in dmesg. He can run X for a couple of days
before his machine locks up...

As I understand it he used to have a hard disk on this ide channel but now
has a cdrom.

Any ideas?
