I've never seen much said of NIS on Linux here on SLUG.
Are there people out there using it, and if so, have you found many
problems with it?
At work, we run a network of around 100 RH 5 and 6 workstations, and 12
servers and while we don't do anything fancy with it (haven't set up any
netgroups yet), it just sits there and does its job. The most
maintenance required has been the rebuilding of the database on a client
where it's been corrupted.
