hi sory bout the sub i just deleted ur message ;-) Mandrake usally picks up soundcards like this out of the box but anyway. try as root in a console modprobe es1371 this should load all the dirvers and u should be up and running if not ull probly find that is a permissions problem.. u can test this by testing as root etc. if (when u modprobe) it says cant find module or somthing like that check that a es1371.o file exists in /lib/module/<versionof kernel>/misc i think if it dosent ull need to recompile ur kernel with es1371 chipset dirvers hope this helps alex -- SLUG - Sydney Linux User Group Mailing List - http://slug.org.au/ More Info: http://slug.org.au/lists/listinfo/slug
