I need to learn a language... the <Learning to Program> thread didn't
help, cos everyone was talking about theory and concepts. The need is for
something practical.
Needs:
Mainly cgi/db, occassional quick and dirty data manipulation
Time to spend on it:
Not enough.... it's not my main business.
Tried:
PERL... yuk.. .ugly... but I would do it if it really was the best...
Thought about:
Python, C
Experience:
COBOL, Assembler, RPG (25 years ago.. times have changed),
Filemaker (yuk again... the best one can say is that it works).
Can anyone make suggestions?
