HI,
I set up and tested smb_auth on a test box for Squid, all went well and
worked nicely. Went to install on my main system Mandrake 6.0
smb_auth wouldn't work due to samba being too old, so upgrade samba, no
problem I thought. Grabbed a tarball for 2.06 and installed, no problems,
all installed in /usr/local/samba, but then I could find no way to start
the samba servers! So went to install from an rpm but it fails the --test
wanting libreadline.so.3, OK so install that. I now have copies in /lib,
/usr/lib/ and /usr/local/lib but samba is still complaining. Where should
this file be or how can I find out where samba wants it to be?
