The PCI card should work just as well as the on-board version. All of those
on-board devices are on the PCI bus anyway (except for the ancient legacy
devices that are ISA!). Take a look at lspci some time.

It should be OK unless different versions or revisions of the chip are used and
that screws up the Linux driver...
