I would agree with this. PDFLatex works very well. If you have to write
large documents the latex is easier to use (about the same to master).
Latex tools seem more mature as they have been around for a long time.

If you have to write programs to manipulate the latex/docbook(XML) source,
then XML is much better. The tags are much easier to process.
