[SLUG] tripwire and changes to whatis

I regularly get the following message in my tripwire reports:

Modified:
"/usr/lib/perl5/man/whatis"

I can't imaging it's serious as I get it even on a machine
that generally doesn't connect to the outside world. Does
anyone know why this file would be changing of its own accord?
