Well not really as just a file server. What our application is or does
should not be of concern, I am only interested in a windows vs Linux type
scenario when it comes to system performance, resource utilisation etc, in a
general sense. I know it depends on what you are running etc etc etc but
without listing every possibility in the universe surely there are some
ballpark, general, average figures available for comparison.

I know that for us Linux performs better, i just want some documented (third
party) proof to convince people.
