Dear friends, I have two DELL machines both running RedHat Linux 7.2 connected to each other by a crossover cable. I can ping one from the other other without any problem. But I can not telnet to the telnet server from either one. I modified the file in /etc/xinet.d/telnet where disalbe=no and I restarted /etc/rc.d/init.d/xinetd ..but I am still not able to telnet. From the machine itself, I can telnet to itself, but from other machine, it says connection refused.
