I suspect that would quite a  backward step.

If you don't have the driver, no config tool will help
you much.

A little googling revealed sis900 drivers for older redhats,
a little more perseverance should be able to get you ones
suitable for rh8.


To configure your network, choose "start here", "system settings"
"network".

Or start "redhat-config-network" aka "neat" from the command line.
