Greetings all, and a Happy New Year to all our readers.... Whilst engaging in SWMBO's annual inventory and relocation of resources (I believe the alternative title for this activity is "clean this shit up and throw out what you aren't going to use NOW"), I have come across a plethora of SUN gear that I find excess to requirements.
I have this complete and total aversion to binning anything that might be even useful as spare parts, so I'm making it available free, gratis and at no charge even for anyone who wants it. Condition is dusty but, as far as I know, working. 3 x SUN Model 511 Tape Units with inbuilt Hard Drive 1 x Sony GDM1632 color monitor 1 x Hitachi HM-4119-S-AA-O Color Monitor 1 x SUN M01 Monitor 2 x SUN 3/50's 1 x SUN 3/100 2 x NCP15b Display Stations 1 x SUN GDM1604A40 Monitor (I think it's a Sony) 1 x Open Windows 3 for SUNOS CD and Manual (still shrinkwrapped) 1 x XGL 2.0 RTE CD There are also sundry additional cables, keyboards, rodentia, etc. In addition, there could be one or two SUN IPC's that I am in the process of rebuilding, as well as assorted 486's, power cables, keyboards, etc. from the other workshop. There are a few conditions; 1. Re: the listed SUN gear - you take the LOT in one go and sort out what you don't want later. This lot, plus a few items I'm keeping, barely fitted into my 80 Series Landcruiser, so bring either a large car, van and/or trailer. 2. You pick it up from my place at Bnowen Mountain - directions, etc. will be given later. Who knows, there might even be a BBQ on that day...:-) 3. NO RETURNS !!! I need my garage back !!! 4. You are welcome, at your discretion, to rat through most of the accumulated effluvia in my workshop, consisting of some modems, old Telstra DDS Line Drivers, power supplies, 486's, etc. and take as little or as much as you think you can use - unlike the SUN gear, this is all actually sitting on shelves, not stacked in the garage. ALL the above gear, if not collected beforehand, will be binned on January 31st (assuming my hangover from my 44th the night before isn't TOO large). And please don't suggest that I donate it to TAD, ComputerBank or anyone else rather than binning it - if they want it they are most welcome to come and collect it - I just do not have the time to do deliveries. There are also a couple of other items that I am charging $$$ for, which could be of interest to Linux users; 1. Olivetti Netstrada 7000 Fileserver - QUAD OPENTIUM PRO 200's, 256MB RAM, 6 x 4.3Gb SCSI drives, DDS2 tape drive and dual redundant power supplies - working order, currently running (I think) SuSE 7.3 or 8.0). Would make a very nice web / mail server. $500. NOTE: This box weighs 30KG, and is a VERY seriously built piece of kit - new they were something like $17k !! This thing screams under Linux. 2. AST Manhattan Pentium 90 ESDI system with 384Mb RAM, RAID controller, no hard drives. Board is a dual-pentium board, and I DO have a manual for it. $100 o.n.o. 3. Compaq P75, 64Mb RAM, SCSI CD-ROM, 2.1Gb SCSI H/D, NIC - just been taken out of service as my firewall, running SuSE 7.3. $100 o.n.o. I'll even help you re-configure it !! 4. 2 x 4.3Gb SCSI drives - working - 68 pin i/f - $50 each. 5. 1 x 2.1Gb SCSI drive - working - 68 pin i/f - $25. Also sundry old CD-ROM drives (IDE & SCSI), floppy drives, hubs, cables, modems, etc. etc. etc. Offers on these accepted, or I'll throw a few freebies in with either of the above units. Also copies of Mandrake 6, MacMillan 6.5, OS/2 2.1 (!!!), and a few Windows (shock horror !!!) items like FrontPage 97, Wing Commander, etc... Email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] off-list please. Thanks....
