Thanks Stuart! Unfortunately only this afternoon I've gone and bought a bluetoothless phone, because I was thinking it was a lost cause.
Well, not entirely, all the bluetoothy phones were a little on the expensive side, and I decided it wasn't really a necessary ... more a neat extra until bluetooth is ubiquitous. I've gone for a Nokia 6610 which is pretty much everything but. Still, it has infrared and cable connection so not all is lost. (ps $499 at dicksmith, everyone else seemed to be selling them for $650 plus) Maybe my next one, or maybe if I buy a replacement pda for my aging palm pilot...
