G'day all, A client who I work voluntary for (as they are a NPO) is experiencing some problems with their ADSL/PPP connection. FWIW, I'm using RHL-9.0 with them and the connection is a standard PPPoE ADSL.
Their ppp0 device often goes down by itself, and fails to restart. Upon a reboot, the ppp0 device does not come up and I find I have to bring it up manually, sometimes having to reset the DSL modem (turn it on and off) in order for the device to be able to be reset. FYI, when the ppp0 device goes down, the lights on the DSL modem indicate that it is still connected. Is this a commonly known problem? Have others encountered this before? Thanks.
