Dear Lyle,

Best way to debug CUPS is as following:

1. Set "LogLevel debug" or debug2 in /etc/cups/cupsd.conf
2. Restart cups.
   # /etc/init.d/cupsys restart
3. In a terminal
   # tail -f /var/log/cups/error_log
4. Print something and the cup's logs will make it very clear where it's
   all going wrong or stalling.

Cheers,
