1) scanner (cannonscan N650U) locks up when quiteinsane does large image and process won't listen to kill -9. The scanner is not available to other programs and is effectively out of action. How can this be fixed with out doing MS solution of rebooting? ( which I'll have to do, thunder storm brewing)
2)A B&W scan of doc at 100bpi, image has ~1-2cm of black vertical column on RH side. This disappears at 50bpi, and gets larger at higher resolutions. Greyscale and colour is ok. This occurs with quiteinsane, kooka, xsane.
this is using debian 3 , kde 3.1.4, quiteinsane 0.10-2 , kooka 4:3.1.4-1, xsane 0.91-6.
