Hi I have run in a strange situation using cdrdao, I have written a vcd image to a cd+rw. My problem is I can not blank this CD now.
Is this a linux thing, I have tried it with cdrecord + cdrdao both fail on my laptop with an ide-scsi drive I get Not ready error, seems like the drive can't even load the cd on my external (firewire) cd burner i get status: 0x2 (CHECK CONDITION) Sense Bytes: 70 00 03 00 00 00 00 0A 00 00 00 00 0C 00 00 00 Sense Key: 0x3 Medium Error, Segment 0 Sense Code: 0x0C Qual 0x00 (write error) Fru 0x0 Sense flags: Blk 0 (not valid) cmd finished after 0.000s timeout 20s ERROR: Test Unit Ready command failed. Blanking time: 10 seconds ERROR: Blanking failed. this is from a cdrdao --disk-info CD-RW : yes Total Capacity : n/a CD-R medium : DIGITAL STORAGE TECHNOLOGY CO.,LTD Long Strategy Type, e.g. Cyanine Recording Speed : 0X - 4X CD-R empty : no Toc Type : CD-DA or CD-ROM Sessions : 1 Last Track : 2 Appendable : no This external cd burner is the one that burnt the cd's very starnge they can't read them again, plays okay in dvd player I am using 2.6.5-4 (debian) Alex
